Personal Liability

Renters insurance provides coverage in the event you are found legally liable for any damages or injuries caused to others. This can refer to someone injuring themselves on your property, in the unfortunate event that has your pet bites someone, or even if you damage the property of others.
personal liability
To simplify further, you have coverage for all amounts which you become legally liable to pay as compensatory damages because of unintentional bodily injury or property damage arising from:
  • Your personal actions anywhere in the world
  • Your ownership, use or occupancy of the premises
  • Defense settlement costs
  • And other items
Additional Living Expense
If the unthinkable were to happen and you were displaced from your home while repairs are being made as a result of a covered loss, you are insured for any necessary increase in living expenses, including moving expenses incurred by you so that your household can maintain a normal standard of living.
While you hope never to have to use this part of the coverage you can sleep well at night knowing that you have it, should you need it.
We offer you two liability limits— $1,000,000 and $2,000,000 to select from. Need help with picking the right limit, or understanding the personal property and liability coverages for renters insurance? Drop us a line at contact@insureityourself.ca.
